North High Street held a block party on Saturday, Sept. 10. Residents from that and surrounding streets came out to enjoy food, games and neighborly conversation. As the sun began to set, young attendees — and a few older ones — had fun with karaoke, a piñata and scooters, and later lighting up the dimming street with sparklers. Several more block parties are set for other neighborhoods, inlcuding Edgefield Drive on Friday, Sept. 16; Fair Acres Road on Saturday, Sept. 17; Spillan Road on Sunday, Sept. 18; Talus Drive on Saturday, Sept. 24; and Rice Road on Saturday, Oct. 1.
