The city's oldest market celebrates its 170th trip around the sun with an all-day birthday bash Saturday. Everyone's invited, and there's free cake.

In addition to all the great shopping to do at Findlay Market (1801 Race St., Over-the-Rhine), you can also enjoy live music and entertainment, enter raffles, pick up market-themed art from local artists, maybe even opt for a limited edition Sauvignon Blanc from Revel OTR Winery made in celebration of the occasion. You can purchase it at Mighty Good OTR (1819 Elm St.). The Play Library visits from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with giant Jenga and other kid-friendly games, and several market merchants are hosting giveaways.

Do you have special memories of Findlay Market? Share them in the storytelling tent, or write your story ahead of time and leave it in the storytelling mailbox at the Market Center.

At 5:30 p.m., join Mayor Aftab Pureval for a cake-cutting ceremony (with free cake!) and sparkler celebration, and be sure to stick around afterward for a special night market that runs until 9 p.m. If you bring a T-shirt with you, you can get a free screen printing of the Findlay Market Birthday Cake design, courtesy of SKT Ceramics.

There's also a North of Liberty Block Party with nearby businesses offering specials and discounts, including BarBarOTR, BQuirkie, La Ofrenda Tequila, Rookwood Pottery and Sam Adams Taproom. In addition, the Brewing Heritage Trail runs its popular Over & Under the Rhine tour at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., ending at Jane's with a pint of beer. findlaymarket.org.
